Black Owl Society Rock, Indie Rock

The Black Owl Society began as the solo piece brain child of Buffalo Man in early 2010.  Infused with the goal of becoming a revolutionary force that brings indigenous issues and struggles to the forefront of everyday recognition, The Black Owl Society rhythmically bends your ears by using 30’s style blues with a swift and lowdown kick in the ass by some heavy rock from Buffalo Man’s favorite 90’s musicians.

Since its inception, Black Owl has been constantly writing and has been an endless fountain of passion for the people.  With Buffalo’s soulful voice, often compared to that of the unmatchable talent of Chris Cornell, subversive guitar inspired by Robert Johnson, Charlie Patton, and R.L. Burnside, heavy drums brought on by his Native American roots, and a solidly grounded bass, Black Owl has built a dedicated following and impressive resume:

-4 tours through the Southern and Midwestern U.S.

- Performances with Gary Clark Jr., Cedric Burnside, and Ana Popavic just to name a few

- Airplay on radio stations throughout the U.S. including KUT, KTAOS, KUTX, Undercurrents, and TheXTexas Radio

“I’ve raved about them before and I’ll probably do it again.  Make way for the dirty blues-rock sounds of local trio, The Black Owl Society.” –Austin Music Minute
